Rebecca Davenport is from the United Kingdom and studied for 5 years at the University of Nottingham to become a veterinarian. She has spent the last two years in practice treating sick and injured animals. Using her stethoscope, thermometer and carrying out a clinical examination, she works out the best treatment to make the animals better. She also helps deliver new born animals into the world. Veterinarians treat all kinds of species from dogs and cats, to cows, sheep and even reptiles. Every day is different as Rebecca doesn't know what sick animal will turn up at the practice!

My Scientific Name is a children's picture storybook developed in collaboration with female and minority scientists across many science fields. Each book is personalized using the letters of their name as a way of introducing them to many different STEM careers.
